Need help on 97 Explorer 500 4x4

I just got this atv and was changing the engine oil and filter the other day. The shop manual said that a cup of oil would remain in the engine and could be removed at a certain location. I thought I had drained that location, but now I think I may have drained something else. The plug was on the bottom side of the engine area... accessible through the skid plate. The shop manual says there is a drain for the transmission in that general area. It also shows a dip stick on the right side which I cannot find. I see a dipstick back over the axle area that I am not sure what it is either. If someone could tell me how many fluid compartments I have and how to check and change them I sure would be appreciative. Sometimes the book and reality just don't match. Also, if you know which fluid goes in the compartment that would help. Once I get one complete service under my belt I will be happy. Thanks.

Preach...the engine oil drain is accessed through the skid plate and will be on the right side of block (right side sitting on atv) right over the u-joint on the driveshaft. The yellow dipstick on the back is for your transmission..The drain plug for trans is under the trans accessed through a hole in skid plate...the engine drain plug is a 14 mm and the trans plug is 7/16th..The engine should hold 2 quarts of oil and trans one quart of polaris chaincase lube...hope this helps
