The CVT's can take a lot of abuse, but you have to drive them right. If you are giving it a good bit of gas, and you look and the tires aren't turning (or turning a lot slower than they should be), then that means the belt is slipping. If you are riding around and arent' going above 15mph, it's time for low gear. Pulling or plowing anything should be done exclusively in low.

High range is for riding unloaded on reasonably level terrain.
