If they done that they would start outlawing them I bet. All it take is a couple of 16 yr old kids to wreck running from the law and being show on national tv and a bunch of pms moms to make all atv manufactures look bad.

It's interesting.......I guess if you're riding in wide open areas or dunes then top speed may have some significance. I have a measly 425cc machine. I ride with 660cc Grizzlys and it just doesn't seem to matter because on the trails top speed will never be of any significance what-so-ever.......unless of course you wish to be dead.
On the open road the Griz has about a 10MPH higher top speed than me.....so what.....we don't buy these machines to ride on the open road. My machine has a 53/54 MPH top speed.....travelling this fast through our trails would mean death.

Early 90's I had a 1985 rz350 yamaha streetbike cafe' style, it was the engine that was eventually put in the banshee. The bike did 133mph with me below the windshield. As soon as I sat up in the saddle it would drop 5mph from wind drag. I don't doubt with the way the cc's and hp's keep going up we will see 100mph.
