Default Stater on Trailblazer 250

WTF. Went to edit my message and the whole thing dissapeared...

Well this one want be as long as the last..... Basically I have an 03 Trailblazer 250... Yesterday when it started it made a weird high pitch sound when I was turning over the key. It started and ran just fine. After riding I turned it over again several times and each time it made this same sound.... On the last time it made a pop sound and sounded like something flew off and hit the floor. I looked real good and saw nothing. I thought the sound came from the engine but it may not have. ? is, would the started make this high pitch sound, and if it is the starter, how hard is it for a novice mechnic to do himself.

theres another gear set between the starter and flywheel. these have an internal engagement clutch, that can go bad and wont let the gears engage properly.

this sounds like your problem i have replaced the one on my wifes 250 and its not that big of a deal. that part can run aroun the $40 range.

Started it up this morning and road it hard all day. It started just fine the first time when I loaded it up and started right up when I got there to ride. Not real sure what was going on yesterday with it. Just weird is all. I changed out the plug yesterday and the old one was all oilly and black. Maybe it just backfired on me. Didnt sound like it came from that direction though. Dont know. All seems to be okay though. Thanks scramX for the help.
