Hawkeye high altitude tuning

Thanks for the info I will pass it on to my Dealer. I bought this for my daughter and even though they said they would trade me up to a 330, I would like to keep it as she can handle it so well.

Hey. I was waiting for a helmet to come in before riding my Hawkeye so I had time to get it ready. We live at 5000 feet and can ride up to at least 7600 feet. I read about jetting and stuff. I went down 3 main jet sizes, got a K&N air filter, installed a TPI valve, and a Dial A Jet kit. It would sputter a bit going up hills if not on the right setting. With a Dial A Jet kit you can add more fuel (increase jet size) by turning a setting with a flathead screwdriver. This thing rocks, and almost acts like a bigger quad, except for the small tires (rim dings).

I installed my Dial A Jet myself without knowing anything. This is my first quad, and no other experience with engines. It went in pretty simple. I should have mounted it right next to the top intake rib instead of between ribs. It is a bit tight to the breather hose. I guess it could mount to the carb itself if you want to drill it. The Dial A Jet mists the fuel into the intake stream when needed and works well. The tech helped to explain things on the phone. I sent them pictures so ask them if they have any of a Hawkeye installation. (Thunder Products) Use black silicone gasket around the tube to seal it up. The fuel hose went right into the fitting on the float bowl. The TPI valve also works well.
Has anyone else noticed their seat is slanted in the back? (defect)

Thanks ArmyHawkeye..........I think I will give them a ring. I had talked to them about another quad I had a few years ago. Haven't noticed the seat slant on the hawkeye. Besides the jetting issue, we are pleased with ride, handling and power now that jetting is better. I ride in the desert most of the winter, butlive up in the whitemountains, so ride up here all summer. Dial-a-jet would be perfect.
