Service Manual ?
#1
Hey guys,
Anyone have a 400 Trailblazer, Scrambler, Sport service manual handy or have an extra laying around ? Im going to need to service my bike soon. Brakes, adjust the rear shock, change the sprockets and chain soon. Everything is good for now, just want to be on the safe side. The only problem Im having currently is the electric starter went out, sounds like the silinoid (just clicks) and need to reset my shock rate. And the rear brake has a slight squeek at low speed.
Thanks
Sean

468bbc, have you tried to Polaris' website. Look at the top-right of the home page and put your cursor over "Riders", scroll down to "manuals and parts". You will have to create an account which will take just a few minutes and then you can do a search for owner's and parts manuals going back to 1998. Hope this helps.

You can download a free parts manual, like Lawdog said, but for purchasing a service manual, I'd check ebay. Got my factory service manual for 23 bucks.

Just an afterthought, I just saw a Polaris Haynes Manual at Autozone a couple of days ago and they may have them at Wal-Mart with the other automotive manuals. I think the one I saw at Autozone was $21.99. It was for 1990?-1997 Polaris two and four strokes. Not sure what year you're looking for, but it may be a little more convenient than ordering one online.

Those are ok, but not real precise on a particular model. For that price I'd check ebay.
Don't know what year Scrammy you have, but Manual

Well, I guess I could have read that better.
You may just want to ask the seller if he has the model you need.

I got one of the cd rom manuals for my Ranger. Not the best quality, but I think the guy was just selling copies. Plus, not something I can sit on the couch and go over. (no laptop)
The downloadable parts manual is good, because you can burn it to a cd, or save on the computer. Then you get the service manual to help give you the steps for what process you're doing. I like to print the parts diagram for the particular part you're fixing, and have that next to the machine. Gives you a good idea of what to look for and expect (parts seem to fall randomly for me).
