Change supplyer of there bumper mounted lights
and install 55watt bulbs.
Add a fuel gauge. (that 1920's floating, noise making, flying all over the place, cork one, just does not cut it)
Install a factory backup light.
Remove the 4wd overide and increase the rpm,s of the reverse overide.
These are the only complaints I have.

They should put some kind of switch for the override. It would be a lawyers paradise, a machine that would go backwards 50 MPH. Why not a switch under the seat somewhere so you could turn it on & off kind of like the airbag switches. This pops to mind because I have a couple nephews old enough to think they can drive around heavy on the throttle, but aren't quite ready to yet.
Also, you could ALWAYS reduce weight, just don't sacrifice strength.
Better lights, yes
How about an intermediate lightswitch position so all 3 are lit up at once.
My brother's Xpress has an adjustable throttle stop. I think that is a good idea for teaching young 'uns how to drive a full sized machine without them getting too radical. My newer Xplorer doesn't have that.
All this stuff I mentioned would add what, $5 to the price of the machine.
On the would be nice, but maybe not worth the price would be fully adjustable suspensions. Adjustable preload and dampening both front and rear. I used to work some with a neighbor who rode MX bikes, and it is amazing the difference in a suspension tailored just to your weight & driving style.

What I tried to say in my previous response was that if they removed the 4wd reverse overide and increased the reverse rev-limiter rpm 's they would have the best of both worlds. Enough power with 4wd to get you out of a sticky situation in reverse and no lawyer's paradise. It is pretty useless and dangerous to have "full" power in reverse but the rev limiter is so low that the bike barely moves. This is most likely why the 4wd is also overridden. Simply because with the low set rev limiter and awd activated, it would probably not even allow the quad to backup.
I still am looking for some input as to why Polaris overrides the awd in reverse. I have never had any problems by running without it and have done so since 94 on 4 different quads. I have never even heard or seen a post of anyone having problems either. What I mentioned above is only speculation so if anybody knows, please respond.
Thanks
