Reverse rev override question.
#1
I've done some searching and haven't found what I need. All the threads talk about newer bikes. I've got a 2002 sp 700 and I want to be able to override the toggle when I plow, but when I'm not plowing I want it to operate like normal. I was thinking about getting a few switches and wiring it up that way but I'm not sure what to do about the wire that has to go to the power.
The reason I want it to be able to go to normal is because I've got a son who is going to be using the bike in the future and don't want him to get hurt. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure how easy it is to get to your rev limiter - but on the Scrambler / TrailBlazer it is pretty easy. If you unplug - OR EVEN just unscrew and set aside (so's it don't get no ground.) it won't limit you.
You could actually mount it somehow that it's not grounded and just attach a wire to it to go to a switch on the dash and run that to ground.

I've done the zip tie trick and it works fine. Does anyone know where the limiter is located on 2002 models? i have a 500HO, but i'm sure they are all in the same place. Thanks.

if you want to overide to work when you are riding and not when plowing just add a toggle switch to the circut on my 04 sportsman 700 the wire colors are brown and gray/orange just splice in a switch and turn it on when you plow and its just like holding the button
