Tires Quit spinning while in the mud today
Well I was out riding today and I droped in from my first real mud bath and I buried it up the the fenderwells in the mud and while trying to plow my way through the wheels just stoped turning. I hit the whole in low and ground to a halt. Tried hight before I stoped mashing the throttle and nothing. Tried rev to break suction and nothing. Went back to low and nothing again. At this point I pullled my feet out of the muck and jumped on my front box as my front end was sinking fast and tossed out my winch line. Had to get pulled out of a mud hole by me bothers BF750. Boy that sucked. It was so soopy my fan was grinding on the flow through. Well I got a yank after I restarted and got all 4 tires a spinning again. I'm wondering it I torched the belt. I did not smell anything burning except the mud on the ehaust. THe Bike still runs and pulls hard but I'm toping out at about 55 MPH on long flat runs I might have hit 60 once on a real long road run. The 2 BF750s and the KK700 were walking away from me on the long straights and when we ran this Feb when the bike was spanking new I could keep up NP. In summary Legendary AWD my can. My brother hit another hole with the same muck and just walked across it. I guess tires are the key. He has 27 " mudlite XLs on his bike and they pull much better than my stockers. Just to place a glint of positive light on this post. I did have one area where I came out on top of one BF and the KK and that was river running. I can go deaper for longer. You all know you have to at least try to wash the mud off your quad before you load it in the truck. The 2 bikes with stock tires ended up getting wet belts and having slipping issues.
So after this long winded post Is it worth have the dealer take a look at the belt and clutches to see if all is well I have mods all over the bike but do that the extended warranty. For the record. I have burned my belt once or twice pulling in Rev. I also pulled one of my nerf bars off my bike, Smashed the front bush guard while running down a 10 foot cliff even with the MV7 springs up front and watched some amazing hill climbs. I hope the new SP is lighter. I guess I should have opted for the ranger springs in front.
