The scramler is a polaris(up), 400ex is a honda(down), and warrior is a yamaha(down). Seriously, the warrior is a good quad, but the design hasn't changed(other than fenders) since the 80's, the 400ex handles awesome and is lightwieght, and has good power, but no reverse, and the scramblers are heavier, but have higher ground clearance, but aren't really true "sport" machines, but modded up('specially the 2-stroke 400), will probably beat the honduh and yammie pretty easily(plus no looking for the right gear!) I don't own any of 'em(but have been around 'em), so I really can't tell ya all the pluses and minuses of each, but them be the basics(plus I wanna wear my keyboard out)

I think for the money you're better off with the Polaris....I just went thru the same comparisons and wound up buying a 2001 Scram 500 4x2. Its more machine than I thought it would be. The Honda looks like a good ride...no reverse..thats out ..I need reverse...and the Warrior doesnt compare to the ride of the Scram 500....I made the right choice as far as I can tell. I'm thinking about some add ons after break-in....the dealer is "suggesting" hot seat for a clutch kit, pipe and K&N filter...yes/no?...feedback please!

The Polaris machines are not really true sport (as in racing) machines. They are fun, smooth riding machines that happen to be fast. I think they are just a little too heavy for racing. They likely are the equal to the warrior out on the trails, but not as nimble or as good a jumper as the Honda. A souped up Scrambler will really move, though. Especially a 400. They can be modded up to be real arm stretchers!

Basically it all comes down to what you want. IF you have to have reverse, thats ok. Right now my modded sc4004x4 is sitting in my garage w/ my buddies modded 400ex. Even as much as I do love my scrambler, I would have to say that I would be just a happy w/ the 400ex (if the price tag and cost of mods had nothing to do w/ it). Its all up to what you want out of the quad. Thats what you have to answer. What style riding are you looking to do?

I pretty much agree. The Scram400 with a pipe can whip a Warrior and a 400ex. The 400ex will handle much better and jump a lot better. The Scram500 or 400 is more of a super fast "trail quad" made for bumpy trails, hills, rocks, mud, small jumps and the power is great and is predictable.

If you want the fastest quad out there get a Banshee or a Raptor. If you want a great handling jumper with good speed get the 400ex. If you want something similar to those but toned down a bit get the Warrior. If you want to ride with every quad out there, utility and sport plus go everywhere they do get a Scrambler.

The Scrambler is the most versatile quad made today...thats why I have one!

The 400ex doesn't have reverse... That ruled it out as a choice. The Warrior is an old and dated design, and limited as to the modifications available. The scrambler 400 has more power, more easily modified, with greater HP gains.
The 400 2X4 Scrambler may not be a "true" sport quad, but it sure is faster than a bunch of them...

If you want a sport quad then count out Polaris. They are too heavy, slow, big, not balenced, top heavy, hard to work on, lack instant power, can't wheelie, are not as well made as the sport fourwheelers you listed.
