1995 Xplorer 400 Oil leak. HELP ASAP
My dad uses his polaris every day out on our farm to feed cattle. It was sitting in the garage, when i noticed a pool of oil under the quad. I traced the leak to the oil pump located on teh front left side of the motor. I took the 3 screws holding the plate on. When i took the plate off a bunch of oil rushed out like it was full of oil. I inspected the little hose on the inside and it was fine. Was this "box" enclosing the pump supposed to be full of oil? Could it be a bad seal where the pump seats up against the motor?
When you start it up, the little hi-flex line that runs to the top of the pump box leaks oil around where it goes into the box. Its like the oil that is leaking on the inside of the pump box is being pushed up through the hi-flex line.
ANY help would be appreciated. As I said before, this quad gets used every day and the sooner I can get this probelm fixed, the better
