If you buy the oil change kit from Polaris the box tells you to clean the screen filter and prime every time,but it's not necessary!Even the manuals say the same thing.ONLY necessary to prime the engine if you do take the oil screen out! Just crank the engine a few seconds after initial oil draining and the sump will empty(not necessary to remove the 14mm sump drain plug) then just change the filter and add oil. OPT

 

Last time I had the wifey on a bike was shortly after we were married in 1971,went on about a 30 mile ride to a pretty lake area.Stopped at a local Dairy Queen and she was almost ready to thumb a ride back home!Complained that her butt was numb! Haven't got her on the back of one since! OPT

 

when i prime it i pull the vent line off the oil tank and put my finger over the fitting on oil tank. you can feel it and hear wooshing sound every time.
