Once they start rubbing forget trying to adjust it out. Try ebay or buy a new one. Mine rubbed on my scrambler and I would shim it in and out for a year with little or no luck. I bought a new one from polaris and have not had it rub for over a year. Worth every penny in piece of mind and aggravation.

One of 2 things cause the rub. Someone has been using the cover as a foot rest and when the plastic get hot it will sag, or just tremendus heat build up inside the cover from hard use. It can happen if high range is used when low should be. Do yourself a favor and get the new style cover that is for the sportsman line. You may have to do some plumbing to reduce the belt exhaust tube to fit your stye vent. I have done this for many people and the new covers can handle alot more heat.
