Default SP 500 Submerged, now what?

I drained the carb, and used the grease on the plug, but how to you drain the pull cord? Thanks

You have to lie on your back and look up at the bottom of the engine through the skid plate. There are two drain plugs, one for the starter and the other one is for engine crank case.

Polaris uses a dry sump oil system on the 500's but some oil collects in the engine case. It is a good idea while your down there to drain both... Don't worry only a couple of ounces of oil will come out.

Leave the plug out of the starter case and pull the rope out and secure it so the spring will not pull it back in and use a hair dryer or heat gun to get the rest of the condensation out.

I always used dielectric grease on the pull starter boot too. It seals it up real nice.

Good luck!
