Default Starter problem?

My 2000 325 Trailboss began having intermittent starting problems. It would start OK, then the next time I would just hear a click from the piece (solenoid?) right in front of the battery. Now it won't e-start at all.

Could it be the solenoid? I recently cleaned the bendix. It had gotten gunked up with water and rust. It started fine after that, but now it won't.

Any thoughts?

try to bypass the solniod and then you can rule out the starter it self.

It doesn't appear to be the batter. Even when fully charged it won't start. Just the 'click' from the solenoid.

Tap on the starter wnd with a piece of wood it should engage. Mine was doing that and it was dirty brushes as one was sticking in and not making contact.....
