Default Pulling to the right?

I have a 2003 500 HO sportsman and if I am in 4wd and go in reverse and then forward, once in a while the machine will pull hard to the right, I then have to take it out of four wheel drive and the problem seems to go away. Please note that I do not have a owners manual and perhaps I am not going in and out of four wheel drive properly?

Thanks for any help.

John

Nature of the beast, usually put it back in reverse and back up it will release.
Turned around right at the top of steep hill on my 500 once started back down and she did that, pulled me right up the bank on right side and layed her over on her side and my foot.Glad she stopped on her side and did not roll on over me.
That was 05 500 sportsman and it did it once in a while, got 05 700 efi and only did it once in 1yr,now got 06 800 with 120 miles and have not had it happen yet,of course not much steep hill riding yet.
