Why no grease zerks on '05 SP400 A-arms
#1
Hi folks, I've been meaning to ask this question. I have an '05 SP400 that has a manufacturing date of October '04 as well as an '05 SP500 HO carb with a manufacturing date of Feb. or March of '05 (I can't quite remember). I have been wondering why the SP400 doesn't have grease zerks on the A-arms. My '05 SP500 carb does, totalling 4 more zerks than the SP400. Was this by design? Or some kind of manufacturing oversight? Has anyone else seen this?

they were stuffed with the joints that are supposed to last forever, they ended up not lasting mroe than a year or so, so polaris changed the design and added zerks.
they should be on your sway bar and your front control arms

I was afraid that would be the answer. I'm a beleiver in grease also. Looks like I need to get motovated and remove the A-arms to tap in a few grease zerks. If anyone has any other ideas or comments let me know.
Thanks!!

my 99 has zerks everywhere you look. they are hard to find on all the new machines, apparently they are supposed to have some ever lasting bushings
i think the idea was that ppl dont grease there equipment properly, so lets make it that they dont need to. and cost of coarse

I noticed the 06 SP have no or less zerks also. I'm on auto forums and one thing they all agree on is buy replacement parts with grease fittings when at all possible.
I know having no grease fittings may sound like less maintenance at first but there are so many pivot points on a SP that greasing them is alot easier and cheaper than changing them down the road.
