Default 06 sportsman 450

I have an 06 sportsman 450 i burnt the belt pretty bad today. I took the belt cover off and little shreads of rubber fell on the floor. There is alot of play in the belt and alot of slippage if i drive it, how do i take the remaining tension off the belt to get it over the pullies to replace it? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

you have to keep working the secondary clutchs apart by twisting and prying them apart. how did you burn your belt so bad maybe you melted your plastic buttons as well in the secondary. just a thought.
