700 belt help?
#1
Hey guy's,
I had to put a new belt on my 04 late version 700. I put a stock belt back on now I'm having a problem with the machine taking off at idal write away when you engage it. the old belt was shredded up pretty bad so I thought their might have been dirt or peices in the clutches. None at all do I have to adjust for a new one? thanks for all your input.

Sounds like you might have an alignment issue if your old belt was shredded and now its try to creep with the new belt. Most of the time you can add or remove shims behind the secondary to achieve the proper alignment. It wouldn't be a bad ideal to inspect the clucth for worn parts and also give them a good cleaning.

if they were hard miles like the one in icon picture it might be worn. what caused the belt to break apart is the question you should be asking like sp.70003 said a misalign issue maybe.
