Default Clutch ???'s

What improvements do you get with a clutch kit??
What do you lose??
As in how abrupt is engagement?
Belt life?
Top end?
Up sides and downsides?
Pretty new at this and want to make the most informed decision I can.
Thanks

Default Clutch ???'s

mostly people use the kit for 2 main reasons. most important which is better grab to the belt prolonging belt life by less slippage. heel clicker is one of the better ones that ive read about. second, you can make your engaugement higher but makes for a more violent take off and puts you more into the power band( mostly of 2 strokes and 4 stroke sport models. it really depends on what you want one for. myself i put in a higher engauging spring on our t. blazer to get a little better take off but didnt need a kit to do it. be warned that by using higher engaugement you will not be able to back up w/out pushing the rev. overide button. when i do buy the kit (if i dont trade this summer) for my 800 its going to be for the better belt grab so helps from burning the belt.

Best advice is if you dont know much about clutching go with a "clutch kit" call either Rick ritter and ask him what you need or call Dayrle at HPD they can set you up right for what you want.
But if if you want to go cheaper you can change the primary spring. On your 500 I would recomend a Polaris white for better take off or an EPI pink for more mid - top power.
