It seems whenever I buy a new toy IE: lawnmower, outboard motor, quad, weed wacker, the last tip I've gotten more than once on my way out the door was "don't run BP gas in it" I found out later why that was. I was dating a girl that was having constant troubles with her lwan mower, the rubber gaskets were rotting right out of the carb. Happened three times. Finally, she took it to a reputable mower shop, and the mechanic said " you use BP gas, don't you" she agreed, he fixxed it, she started using Marathon gas, and the problem was solved. I don't know what BP does to their gas, but I do know, that when I'm in a pinch and use it, my toys don't run at their peak.

I guy that I know that owns a small lawnmower repair shop has told me the same thing. He was told that BP uses a lot more ethanol in their gas than other refiners and this causes the gas to evaporate much quicker than normal (alcohol evaporates rather quickly). This probably would not affect your car/truck as it is used too fast, but would affect a lawnmower, etc. Before anyone slams me on this, I have not done any research to verify that this is true. This is just what I have been told. If anyone has any info on this, I would appreciate hearing it.

In the winter me and my neighbor cruise around his farm(went out today in fresh snow, actually), and it ain't too bad, cuz he packs down the trails on his old beater sled, and then we go tearimg through roughly 600 acres on our wheelers. When I was younger and had my uncles trailboss 250(see the "polaris getting better post" for the abuse that poor thing took), me and my brother would take buckets of water to freeze the big snowbanks at the end of the plowed strip at my grandmothers house, and after we were convinced it was safe to drive the fourwheeler over, we'd charge at it with a full head of steam and launch ourselves about 15 feet into the 4ft. deep fluffy snow in the field. Actually, we only did it once cuz dad grounded us from the fourwheeler after he found out what we did when we asked if he could bring the big tractor over to pull the quad out. But as far as winterizing, I don't use my quad if its real cold(haven't re-jetted yet,)but did take the battery out and use the pull starter, cuz it'll sit for a few weeks in single digit weather.
