Default Polaris Sportsman - Storage - ?

Can someone tell me the best way to remove the battery on a 04.5 Sportsman 600? I removed the negative & Positive cables, bracket on the top, and vent hose. I'm sure this is going to be a silly question but I'm not the best mechanic in town.

What is the best way to remove the battery from the box? Its a larger battery and quite heavy and I can't seem to get a good grip on it to remove it from the box. Don't want to damage anything by prying or trying other crazy ideas running around on my head so i figured someone else may have run into this problem and can tell be the easiest way to remove w/ out doing any damage to the battery, Etc.

I would just leave the battery in but don't have elec. at my storage area and want to maintain the battery on my Opti_mate charger.

Thanks!

Wish it was that simple! The battery is dropped down into a battery box and there isn't enough of it sticking out to really get a grip on it.

i found two longer bolts that thread into the terminals on top of my battery and they give me enough grip to pull the battery out. be careful though to use bolts with the same thread pitch and size

I know what you are talking about. My 02 700 batt is the same place and size and sometimes it gets muddy and freezes in in cold water. I just bring a jug of warm water down to the shop and pour it around the battery which loosens all the mud, ice, and dirt. Then use the sugestions listed in the posts above.

My wife's 700 is the same way. I used a nylon tie-wrap in the holes in each terminal, made a loop and pulled the battery out that way. You sacrifice the tie-wraps, but I couldn't figure out any other way to get the battery out. It's a major PIA, because her battery is not sealed and I have to pull it every couple of months just to check the fluid level on it.
