Hey Waste..

I really hope you get it figured out.. When I saw your post the first thing that came to my mind was water in the gas. It could also be the kill switch. Just have your dealer look at it and they will figure out whats wrong.. Dont sweat it man... I know it can be fustrating to have a quad go tittys up on you at the worst time. About 2 years ago my t-stat on my dodge went out when it was 10 below.. That sucked. To get to the stat you have to pull the belt and the alterator. Way too much problems. So i understand things not working...

Let us know what hte outcome was. The folks around here are really good at helping people out.. I have helped a few myself as well as have been helped by a few.. Good folk...

Except that Stendori guy.. Watch out for him.. He is a troublemaker

PS.. I have a 06 500HO 850 miles with about 80 hrs.. Runs like a swiss watch.. Friend had a 2004 700 Twin. 4300 miles, ran perfect.. He just gave it to his wife and bought a new Can Am 800.

Anything can have problems.. Good luck man...

Hey atv once you get it fixed do yourself a favor and use the starter by useing the recoil all the time your just putting alot of wear and tear on the rope and when you really need it it mite break. If your battery is in good shape your not going to run it down by starting it.The only time youll run your battery down is when your on your winch hard like pulling out of a mud hole.As long as its running and chargeing like it should you can raise and lower that blade all day long and not run it down.

Thanks for all of the input, I've been lucky and trouble free for several years now but, like I said, I will post how this is resolved. BTW, bobcats are a gift from god.

Nope, just trying to save some gas.

Nope, but there was just too much snow to get the car out for a good push.

These things run on their own????

Here's your sign.

Ever notice that people the question the obvious are the ones wearing 16 layers of clothes when it's cold out, but still forgot to zip up the 6 pairs of pants they have on.

Good luck getting it up and running again.

Scootergptx, the line about people who question the obvious is a good one. Also, You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say will be misquoted and used against you. , reminds me of one a buddy told me. If a man is talking, by himself, in the woods, and there are no woman to hear him; is he still wrong?

OK, this just came to mind. What about the infamous pinched plug wire on the 500's? Does anybody remember where the pinch is? A couple of friends of mine have had this happen on the trail. We would slow down, and their machine would just suddenly quit for no reason.

Anyway, whatever it is, I hope you get it figured out.

For those who remember this post from a week or so ago I got the machine back today and it seems to be running great. It turned out a pinched cable caused the ignition coil to short out. Coil was $120 and then $110 labor to install and perform scheduled maintenance, oil change, plug etc., so all in all I'm pleased. Anyone else ever heard of that happening? They just acted like it was a freak occurence.

Heres your sign! "Bill Engvaull" Love that guy

by the way the sp 500 is truly a great machine! I plowed 30" of snow from my drive and pushed snow banks up to 4.5 feet tall some 5-6 feet but those I really have to work at LOL

Mornin atvwaste,
From what I have heard they fixed that problem with the 06's, But Polaris had that problem with em before that and the dealer should of fixed it for free, But it's water under the bridge now, When I bought mine I asked if they would fix mine when it happened to me and was told they knew bout it and fixed it at the factory with the newer ones and it would not happen to mine, I hope their right,,
Hope things go better for ya,,
