Default dalton black spring with orange stripe

hey guys i just ordered this primary spring for my 99 scrambler 400 4x4 i have a fmf turbine core 11 spark arrestor will this go well together....i was looking for more acceleration and better wheelie ability....will this spring create a much higher engagement and will it lower my top speed or midrange by a lot....thanks guys as im not to good with springs rick ritter recommeneded this so i was getting yalls info

anytime you have a higher engagement you will loose top end..not sure how much... but i have only heard GREAT things about rick ritter and he knows what HE is doing

the above is not neccasarily true. if you raise rate proportional you won;t loose top end. with a clutch kit like epi/highlifter the use really heavy weights to prevent belt slip turning mud tires the weights are what tend to loose top end more then the spring.

eddy, if all you have is a silencer you will actually be loosing power, you will have more engagement for take off/ wheelies but your going to overshoot the stock pipes power band. 5900 is really the peak, after thatr power drops off fast. with a stock piston the added rpms are just setting you up for failure.

Did you tell Rick you were running a stock pipe with FMF silencer?Stock pipe that spring will get you way past the rpm range of the stock pipe causing a lose of power.I would think the Dalton blk/white would do better with stock pipe.
Annd the blk/orange better with a pipe.

he said it would work fine....he also sold me a belt i cant remember which one....i just wanted to have better acceleration and wheelie ability will this give me that.....or should i just keep the stock clutch and put the belt on? how much power/top speed will i lose i do a lot of trail riding and just wanted me take of thrust is this going to work
