Default 1999 400 Explorer Trans problem

When I run through a large body of water, weather small creek or just water standing in a field.
It seems like the reansmission is slipping or the drive belt is wet. The ATV moves real slow for a
few minutes and then get back up to speed. As far as the motor there are no problem with it.
I never loose RPM's when this happens. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this problem?

first off how deep is the water, over the seat?

check the air intake tubes on the clutch cover or is the foam seal ring in the cover groove

The water doesn't have to be that deep anywhere from 4" to over the wheels.
I have recently replaced the seals on the clutch cover. I will check on the intake
tubes. thanks.

if the engine is reving up when it does this then the belt is slipping from water/silt, mud. check all the seals where water can slash up in there

how fast are you hitting the water? I was told by a mechanic that the seals are not that good, when hitting water at high speed it can get forced in and it does not take much water to cause the belt to slip.
