Well I went to the dealer today and picked up my 800 snorkel, rushed home, pulled the seat off my bike, and found the 800 snorkel WILL NOT FIT!!!!! It doesn't go far enough forward to the tank and is actually not as high either. It WILL NOT FIT under the seat either.

So I compared the actual size of the "runner" and my 500 intake is the same size as the 800, so I don't think it would give me any more performance anyways. So that was a $40 lesson LOL Hopefully I can find someone with a 700 lookin for a little more jam. I do know I guy with a 700 but I haven't seen him around in a while. Oh well, lesson learned

Hey ScrammyTodd wait a minute, did you find out
if it is a 06' or '07 thing? Maybe the 06' snorkels are
different? Bummer thought, man I got my hopes up
on this one.

So... does anyone know the mapping of compatible snorkles between different models of Sportsman? For example, I have a 2004 SP700 (carb version). I just examined its snorkle and the top/intake end is round. The bottom/exhaust end (the end that connects to the airbox) is rectangular. I'd estimate (from memory) that the intake end is just over an inch in diameter, which would be roughly 0.80 square inches of cross-section. The cross-sectional area of the rectangular end looks quite a bit larger. This implies that the snorkle restricts airflow within itself.

I would love to replace the snorkle with the proper SP800 unit, if there is one that is compatible. Does anyone have a cross-reference list like that?

the 800 intake snorkel will fit on yours no prob, you may as well get the 800 exaust and a jet kit also. It really helps.

I already have the Pure Polaris (by White Brothers) performance muffler, which is the reason I need to adjust the pilot jet. Once I get the pilot dialed in for this configuration and ride it a while, I'll put the 800 snorkle on it - and that will make the jet kit a requirement.

Is there only one 800 snorkle? They've been making the 800 for a couple of years now and I don't want to get the wrong year.

Thanks!
