Default Info ...on newer style Instrument Cluster.........

Just a little info for you riders out there with the new style Rider Information Center......
1.The Illumination lamp inside the gauge is non-serviceable and is designed to last the life of the unit....................How long is "LIFE".......Time will tell!!!!!!
2.A non-serviceable internal memory battery maintains odometer and hour meter data when quad is not running.......
3.NOTE:The flashing NEEDLE could indicate a hot engine, low battery,or the No. 10 Pin could be grounded.........
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you are in Diagnostic Mode.......The gear circuit screen displays the resistance value in OHMS................They are as follows:Given 10-20% variance....
Park............23 Ohms
Neutral.......158 Ohms
Reverse........75 Ohms
Low.......... 297 Ohms
High...........628 Ohms....There now you know!!!!!!!!!!.....Caper.........

My 2002 sp 700 was the first year to use a new style instrument cluster as you described and it has 4000 miles in 5 years with 3000 comming in the first 2. It still runs perfectly and I have never seen one go bad, besides getting cracked from a roll over.

The 2002 has a tach like yours but you have to be in diagnostic mode to use it. Allows you to set the idle.
