Just squirt some wd-40, or for a longer lasting squeak fighter, chain lube (with the little straw thingy) up on top of the strut. It helps to block up the front end so both wheels are off the ground. The chain lube that turns dry to the touch worked best for me as it doesn't attract dirt, and keeps it quiet for quite a while.

I use lithium grease in a spray can. I have disassembled mine to grease and that did not last any longer than spraing it. The only thing I can think of that might work better, is a high quality anti-sieze. That stuff will not wash off, and works like a lubricant. I have not tried it, but if I have to pull the strut for any other reason, I will do it and see how it works.
