Default 2006 Sportsman 500 HO - Clutch Problem

2006 Sportsman 500 HO - I've been riding for about 6months now and i am experiencing gear shifting issues. The engine RPM's really shoot up (5-6k) before it will shift from 1st to 2nd gear. I had the drive and driven clutch replaced under warranty, but I'm still getting the same results.

If I vary the throttle it will finally kick into the next gear, and top speed and higher gears don't seem to be as bad. As it heats up the problem gets worse.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Kgun,

Not sure I completely understand what you mean by shifting from 1st to 2nd, since the Sportsman is an Automatic. And you mention kick into the next gear and higher gears, I just don't know what you're trying to say.

You are correct ... it is automatic. By "kick in" I mean when the clutch attains the next gear it lurches forward pretty good. I don't know if the clutch can be adjusted, but that sounds like the problem.
