My 2007 Trail Boss 330 has a stripped bellcrank and shift shaff. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix? The bellcrank looks easy enough but I'm not sure about the shaft. Also, since I've only had this for three months, should it be covered under warranty? It doesn't appear to be stripped internally because I can change the gears (F-N-R) with a wrench.

 

If i were you i'd get off the stsck, and take it in the daeler and have it checked out ; the longer you wait the more time they can say has passed and it's out of warrannty ! I would take it in like yesterday !!!! lol williebee

 

You dont strip the shaft.It is steel what you do is strip the bellcranck splines.

Does anyone know what is involved in changing the shift shaft if it is stripped? Can you replace it without splitting the cases?

 

you have to pull the tranny and split the cases to replace the shift shaft

 

My problem was a stripped bellcrank. The shift shaft was fine. Quick, easy, cheap fix.
