Default hawkeye problems

06 Hawkeyes have a couple of service bulletins that may apply to yours. A dealer should be able to get those taken care of even if it out of warranty. One is a safety bulletin that affected a small amount of machines.
You sure want to keep an eye on your rear control arms where they attach to the frame. Some machines have been cracking around the mount tabs. A replacement subframe has stronger tabs now I have heard.

it's running lean, so u would have to go with a bigger main jet, or just drop the clip down a notch on the needle.

Default hawkeye problems

I too just started experiencing "sputtering" and power loss on my wife's 06 Hawkeye 2x4. I bought new May 06 and it has run fine for about 200 miles. Then took it to Little Sahara in June, got on the sand and sputtering began at higher rpms. Parked it, and played on an '03 Suz Ozark. Thought it was the sand, then last weekend rode south Texas and while climbing some of the bigger hills, began experiencing the same thing and huge power loss - not that they're powermonsters to begin with..

There's been no mods at all - not even service advisories.. , but it sounds our bike could benefit from the jetting as well? Also been reading the other forums whereby the air breather box is modified. Anyone do that?

Does this sound like the same

hey Check the Plug for carbon buildup and the carb vent Lines for kinks ,my carb vent tubes were Kinked and this why it was cutting out. But i have also posted a clutch Video on you tube that really helps the hawkeye.
