Newer sealed batteries that are AGM do not have a vent. The older ones did. It is most likely your old battery vent line.

AGM and gel batteries are very similar technologies. Both will vent, when over heated, through pressure relief valves biult into the battery, but they do not have a vent pickup tube like the lead acid batteries do. They vent directly to atmoshpere if needed. In general, if your charging system is operating normally, they won't need to vent.

It didn't go to the battery so I just pulled the tube from the clamps it was hanging from. Must have been for the old battery. Thanks again for all your help.

if it went to the old battery the end would have been right near the battery box. most of them dont have a clamp on them.

It's has been my past experience working on things, to have a part that the factory installed for no apparent reason.

I always had referred to them as Non-essential Added Hardware.

Easy way to remember that was, do I need this part? NAH!

So you got it up and running?
