I'm new to ATV's and about to buy my first one. Our local dealer has some pretty good prices right now on remaining 2006 Sportsman 700 models ($2000 off MSRP) and I was wondering if there is any signifigant difference between the 06 and 07 models. Also is the EFI worth the extra $500? Thanks,
Steve

i think the efi is worth the extra 500 dollars, that way if u go from say the desert to the mountains, you wouldn't have to rejet your machine for altitude. the efi automatically does it itself. you can also pu a power commander on your efi for optimum performance, while as carburetors u can't do much more for performance after rejetting. and there isn't really a big difference between the 06 and 07 models.

I prefer a carb, simply because I can work on it myself and not have to pay a dealer the big bucks on service. Next question is how proficient is the tech at the dealer in the event that you need to have the EFI worked on.
Dial-a-jet can solve many issues if you frequently change altitude and cost around $75.00. Takes less than a 10 seconds to dial in a different jet setting. It also offers several other bennies.
