check the plug from being fouled/flooded and carb for being dirty if it has good fire and getting gas.

He is right, most likely spark plug (always, always carry at least one spare) bc they go so quickly, or dirty carb. I had a 93 305L as one of my first atv's. I sure learned how to change out those carb kits. I put 2000 big ones into that bike, including an overhaul, etc... before it dawned on me that it woult never be as reliable as I wanted and needed it to be. For a while, it was just a challenge, later just a hassle. It sure had the torgue though!!! For the first 50 yards, I could outrun a lot of bikes on it. You could fix it over and over, but my advice is to put it out of it's misery. A 45 long colt between the eyes will make it feel much better. Then get a late model sportsman. You'll be glad you did.
Either way, good luck! Carb kits are pretty cheap.
