I made the jump from an 07 500 Sportsman up to an 800. I am pumped. I will pick up in the next couple of day's. I just want to thank all on the Polaris forum for all there help. I never had a problem with the 500, except for a little lash noise in the transaxle. Never affected performance. i rode an 800 and that was all it took, and finally the wife gave in.

Any words on the Touring 800, are dealers selling them yet?

My dealer told me she won't have her 08's until 1st of September. I bought an 07 that they had in the box still. Hey Rtickwad, check out Motosports, Inc. in Hanover PA I thought I saw in a previous post that you were from MD. I live in Hampstead. Hope this is helpful.

Also I read in Quad mag tonight that the 800 Touring's rear seat does not come off to ride 1 up for more storage, just a thought. <div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: Outback31

that sounds like a dumb design if you cant take the seat off. but it must have better springs if its a 2 up only i would think.

I agree with you on thatas it say's in quote's "these all the time" two up machine's whereas the X2 can be converted to one up with storage. It doe's have dual cup holder's though to hold your freshee.

Man that is a bummer I am really looking forward
to this touring model and that would stink if you couldn't
remove it. Not sure if that would be a showstopper
but it would be a "negative" check.

Your right Outback31 I am from MD. We ride at GreenRidge
State Park and I ride a little on the eastern shore at my
in-laws, and a few times a year on our hunting property.

I would of thought they would have more places to ride
in your area. Yea I will check out that dealer, how is that
dealers prices? Anyways we can take this off-line using
the PM tool.

Cheers,

R'

I think that would be crazy to have a 2 seater that you can't convert to a single seat with a rack. I would still buy an X2 over the touring model in that case. When I'm riding single (about 2/3 the time) it's great to throw the chainsaw in the back with a cargo net. I can also fit a large cooler back in the box when riding two up and not have to have it on the front rack blocking my vision.
