i havent been looking at the sport quad market for awhile and just 20 min ago i go to the polaris site and they have a 450 and no 500 outlaw or predator or no predator at all. Why would they change the name of the predator to the Outlaw 525 S? when did this happen

Polaris and KTM "merged/partnered" a while back (last year?). The KTM power plant on a Polaris rack is (AFAIK) the first production combo.
Good for both as KTM makes some serious racing motors. Polaris is a very well known/established brand for enthusiest vehicles. I think it's a good merger and both will benefit from the other.

I have the 525 KTM powered outlaw and the machine is just amazing. The power and IRS are awesome. Fairly new so still getting used to the whole package. No regrets as of yet.

There is not much information from Polaris on this and that is what I had originally thought, but a first ride report in QUAD Magazine says the 450 and 525 Outlaw SRA's are an Outlaw frame with a swingarm rear in place of the IRS.??
The 450 and 525 are both KTM's.

i think it was a very wise decision to put a stright axle model in the line up. the irs was keeping alot of us drag racers/ dune riders away from the outlaw.
