Work lights on 700EFI question?????
#1
Okay, my '05 700EFI had the worklight option. I get my new '07 700EFI, and I can't find the switch. So I figure maybe they changed them for '07, and they will come on when I shift into reverse. Nope. Come to find out, my new '07 doesn't have the workight "option". BUT....The lenses are still there, the light bulb sockets are still there, AND the wires are there that go from the sockets, and lead into the wiring harness!!! What the heck?? Did they just leave out the switch?? I wonder if the wires are present up in the pod? maybe all I need to do is buy a switch, and connect the wires to it. I already have two spare bulbs left over from my '05. I wonder if there is supposed to be a relay to operate the lights? I don't remember any "click" sound of a relay when I turned on the worklights on my '05. If anyone has a service manual for an '07 700EFI, can you check the wiring diagram for me and see if there is a relay in the system, and what color are the wires in the pod that conect to the switch?? Thanks in advance.......

Great, I got the bulbs already. Did you buy the actual correct stock switch from Polaris, or did you use something esle? I think I might buy the correct switch from Polaris, just to keep everything "stock" and not take a chance on voiding the warranty. What am I looking for inside the pod? is there two seperate wires? or are they combined in a plastic plug? do you remember the colors of the wires?

the stock switch is 16.00 and i got mine form a local vip store for 4.00 and its lighted if you look at my pic in the post you'll see it. the wires in the pod are wire tied to the speedo wire harness i think and its a single black plug w/ 2 wire going in it.

You mentioned VIP, and since I know that 95% of VIP stores are located in Maine, I checked your profile, and I see that you are from Dexter. I'm in Augusta. Where do you ride mostly? I'm always looking for new trails to try.

i live right on the railroad bed so i can go just about all the miles i want. if you start in newport you can go 32 miles to dover toward guilford. i can leave from hear and go to lagrange and have been told i can make it to millnocket and even to madawaska. i sometimes drop in abott and go to greenville as well. i had a friend who dropped in calais and rode to madawaka on a 3 day trip.
