I had to replace the valve cover on my 700 because it warped. so I had to remove all of the plastic including the speedo pod and now I have no low end. It will idle but when you hit the throttle it falls flat on it's face. I went through the carb, checked the air filter, checked the intake boot, replaced the plugs and made sure all of the connections were correct. It is NOT fuel injected. any ideas????

 

does it spit and sputter or just have no power. does it act the same way in gear as neutral? wonder if the etc got out of adjustment.

 

messed up plug wire? have you checked the carb vent tubes?

 

all carb vent tubes are connected and plug wires are correct and good. It acts the same in neutral as it does in low or high.

 

sounds like ETC to me also. check throttle cable maybe streched

 

make sure you have a 1/8" gap @ the throttle so it wont kick on the etc. you never said if it spits/cuts out/sputters or not. if so its most likey that.
