Default Bad front drive shaft

My front drive shaft wabbles and there is play on the front where it mates to the front diff, it makes noise and shakes when you reach 30 and over.

My question is, when this happens, are the splines on the shaft wore or the splines on the front diff? I am told that this is somewhat common.

And, how does the shaft come out so I can inspect it....... Looks to be a roll pin then it will allow me to slide it off......????

yup knock out pins on both ends of shaft.wait its front shaft right. is there grease in shaft? sorry does it have a zurk fitting on it? Ive never had a shaft loose teeth that pin keeps it tight. no room for wobble might have loose transmission check bolts. but id check if grease is in output shaft near trans

There are no zerk fittings i believe. Is there roll pins in the front and back or just one of them?

I tore into it, the front has a roll pin and the rear has a zerk fitting, how do I get it out? do I have to unbolt the front diff and move it or something? I got the roll pin out and that appears to be the only thing holding it in.

u have to find angle to slide shaft off it pulls off output from trans. slide it back all the way towards trans but do it slowly rubber seal inside shaft. might find angle then

I had to pull the front diff forward and it fell out, appears I need a new front yoke, the splines are wore, but I think I will get a whole new shaft because the yoke and 2 u joints are as much as a new shaft.

Any driveline shop should be able to match up the ujoints and save you a lot of $. Then all you need is the yolk from polaris.

Well, not sure how, but the front yoke was wore, but that wasn't the problem, the rear yoke wore from not being greased and because that got wore and the wobble wrecked the front yoke. New shaft, tight as a ..... well you know.....

Had to take the whole front off the wheeler. Gave me a good chance to pressure wash the radiator. not a bad project, easy.....
