Default 2001 Polaris SP HO 500 Dies in Nuetral and Reverse

I have a Polaris Sportmans 500 HO 2001 model. I had to adjust the Shifting linkage and now the thing dies in Nuetral and reverse. Any ideas? I am new to this whole thing. Could it be the carbuerator?

Try backing off the adjustment a little. You may be confusing the sensor by pulling it too tight. Now if it was doing this before I would say the reverse limiter is bad and either needs replaced or bypassed.
