Polaris Man

I went to check my Timing on my 2000 Polaris Sprotsman 500 4X4?

what tools will I need to purchase to do this task? and where is a good place to purchase them?

Default Polaris timing

All you should need to check the timing is a basic inductive timing light, and a socket or open/box end wrench to remove the timing check bolt. You can get a cheap timing light at any discount auto parts store, like Advance Auto parts.

HERE is the timing check procedure for a late model Sportsman 500. Assuming you have the Fuji SOHC engine, mechanically everything should be the same.

Just to be safe, you might wish to verify the timing setting before checking it and making adjustments.
