Default Hawkeye Clutch Rollers

i was thinking about putting 25" mudlite xl's on my hawkeye, what mudlites are you running, i had the recall work done on my wheeler (front wheel bearing assembly and steering post) and they said that the clutch roller weights were part of the work to be done too... they didnt know what weight they were but it made a big difference!! i was also wondering how the drilled carb slide mod worked too.

I run the regular 25" mudlites, not the xl's, with no problem. The xl's would hit on mine unless I tried to move the plastic away from the rear tires. I just put in the 10gram rollers but others use the 12gram or just remove 2 of the 14gram. The carb slide drilling worked great. The jet kit is easy and works well. I find mine actually starts easier. When I first drilled out the air/fuel screw I found it was still tightened all the way in and was running very rich on the plugs. Seems to run much better now turned out the 3.5 turns as recommended. I will post my top speed loss when I get a chance but off the line it is much faster. In the trails it should be great.

i just got my service manual in the mail yesterday and was reading about what your talking about.. it states that the carb should be serviced by a trained gorilla or something ... lol ... but i thank you for the input because i seem to have those same problems.. it is running real good but the plug is still burning black.. so how do you guys get that brass plug out of the carb adjuster?? oh and to fit the xl's i was thinking of cutting the rear most slot on the inner foot well and probably pull it towards the front and hold it with a zip tie... not sure if it will work or not but when i get them i will figure something...

Drill a small hole and use a screw to pull it out. It comes out easily.
