Default New optional Moose Plow mounting system

About ten days ago, I ordered a 60" Moose County Plow with push tube and the frame mount underneath. The mount was unavailable until the end of the month. Sigh. (It's supposed to snow tonight in SW Missouri).

I received a new Moose catalog today and, low and behold, they have an optional (naturally more expensive) front mounting system (RMP) newly available that emulates the Glacier (I guess) in that it is a drive in style, front quick attach. It also boasts a 20" lift height.

All of that appeals to me, along with not losing any ground clearance, so I bit the bullet and ordered it. Of course, THAT mount is also unavailable until the end of the year.

It'll cost me about $85 more, but these toys aren't cheap, are they?

I had the Glacier II mount and since it was not the right one for my V blade, I had to get the correct mount, a Glacier I and naturally it was $70 more and heavier and less clearance. I wish now I would have gotten a different blade and kept the Glacier II mount. I guess this kind of thing affects everybody. Hope yours works to your expectations.

Will this mount fit a 2007 500 X2? If so what is the part number. I ordered a 55" moose plow and the attachement is on back order as well.

Thanks

Yes, BP, you'll notice in my signature block that's what I have.

See

http://www.mooseutilities.com/...&product_group_id=5682 for the frame and

http://www.mooseutilities.com/.../fitments/rm3plows.pdf for the mount.

Your 500 X2 will handle the 60" blade. From my research, the 60" County blade is the ticket, at least for me.

I bet you're as anxious to get the thing as I am. Good luck to both of us.

That looks almost exactly like the Glacier 2 plow system. You'll be happy with it for sure

From what I am reading from your link GP. The original install is 30 minutes. Is that including the initial mountaing braket install?

I have the DLX version of the 500 X2 and it came with a winch so I guess I do not need the winch mount.

From what I am reading I require the following

Plow frame 4501-0147 $239.95
Mount plate 4501-0151 $99.95

Blade ?

I am going to call the bike shop. I ordered the 55" moose plow complete (mounting bracket, push tubes and blade) for approximately $400.00. I am not sure if thats a good price.

Mine's on order, so I cannot answer your question about install time. All I know about it is what I read on their site and in their catalog.

As to price, I requested written quotes from the local dealers and the best one came in about $430 for the 60" County blade, extension tube and mount.

Upon seeing the new system, I requested a revised price quotation and it came in about $515 for the same blade with the new front mount and frame. I think that's a fair deal, considerably less than list.

I must say, BP, that you have fine taste in ATV's.

You have fine taste too GP. I actually found it on the internet. I got the 2007 X2 with 53 miles on it for $5500 US and the 2007 Outlaw for $1500.00 US. After the Canadian to US conversion I paid $6600.00 Canadian. I think that its a good deal.

Yes, it does look like the Glacier II blade mount. I got my new mount, the Glacier I and it is considerably bigger than the glacier II. The directions are a little more complete though. I did mount the ATV mount as it was about the same. I now have to hook the blade to the blade mount. It has been snowing here and we have about 6 inches and it is supposed to snow all day today. I need to plow today.
