My sportsman is running rough!!! Idles very rough and the 4wd light is on but does not work. Found out that the battery was completly dead this morning could that cause these problems?? Any advice would help!!! Thanks guys

 

Yes..... my 2006 SP 450 will not even stay running with a dead battery!!!............Charge your battery of replace it (if needed).............Then see where your at with your rough Idle!!!..........Caper.............

 

I forgot to ask what year is it??.........Caper..........

i know the newer ones live and die by the cortect battery voltage but not sure about a 2000. try it and get back to us. if you pulled started it and it ran ok then i dont know if the batteries maybe junk as well?

 

I rode my 2001 for 2 months with a dead battery or very weak one (could only pull start it) and the ATV ran great.

 

Mine was "DEAD"........No voltage at all....do to the ECM failure running the Fan without the key even in the quad.................So I am talking about totally drained battery here...........Yes with a weak battery,It may run fine with a pull start, I really don't know yet!!.......Caper...........
