Default 06 450 SP winch solenoid

Hi everyone, looking to see if anyone has run into this problem, My father in-laws bike has a warn winch and a glasier plow. It has started to act up. Sometimes when he goes to lift it you can hear a click and the plow won't lift. Then if he hits out on the winch and then hits in(lift)again it will lift. This is a hit and miss problem, I found the clicking coming from the solenoid under the right front fender, I took it off and checked all of the connections and applied dielectic grease and reinstalled. I also checked the winch connections. It is still doing it. I called the dealer and a new solenoid is $119.00 and it can't be returned so I would like to make sure this is what it is. Has anyone else run into this problem. The solenoid is a 4 post one.

I just had the same issue with my 07 700 sportsman this past weekend. The winch would go out, but wouldn't pull in. I thought is may have been the solenoid but it turned out the be the Conector. Luckily I'm still under warranty and they replaced it for free.

I checked and tightened them all, hate to see him spend $120 bucks on the solenoid if it isn't the problem

If you have a voltmeter place it across the terminals on the winch. If you are getting 12-13 with switch on would be the winch.

Had the same problem just a couple of weeks ago. It was the contactor. My bike is 9 months old Dealer charged me 40.00 for a 68.00 part...You shouldn't have to pay that much!!!
