Five hours and 60 miles later, seems pretty good. Don't like the chinsey way that the seat locks in, don't like the dipstick located in the fenderwell, & there are no cv boot protectors on the front anymore. With the 3" overall width increase at the front tires, the Hawkeye cover dosen't fit as well. Its only 1" higher at the seat but feels Higher. Bought a red one. Not a camo guy and I hate the "snot green" colour that is offered.

Like the way it rides with the extra weight and bigger tires and with that, it handles better at speed with the extra 90 lbs. Like the extra power. Luv the way they tucked the CVT intake out of the way and put some baffles in front of it. Kinda like the better muffler and minor snarl it makes.

Followed the tracks I made the other day on the Hawkeye (on tracks), then found out that tires aren't tracks when I tried to turn around. Stuck in snow up to the cahoonies. No problem, nothing that an hr. of shovelling and winching wouldn't cure. Fat old guys shouldn't have to work that hard.

Overall, I like it and will like it more as I ride. For a mid size ATV, lightweight, and fairly inexpensive, I give it an 8 out of ten.

I'll put another 5 hours on it to cover Polaris's recommended break in period then I'll post another comment.

if you have a quad with tracks, why didn't you use that to get unstuck? Or did you not want to walk back to the house to get it?

Just the wife (someone else to rescue) so I just bit the bullet and dug. I've been lectured a doz. times about riding alone, but only 6 quads in this small town and everone was working. If I waited for someone to ride with, I'd probably seldom ride. The last resort was the walk.

yea, i've been there... a 1-2 mile hike uphill in 3' of snow is not a fun one...

i should probably start to carry a small shovel on the quad once the snow comes back... thanks for that idea...

glad you like it!

I carry shovel, tarp for tent, rope, lighter fluid & lighter, food & water, extra gloves and socks. No cell phone or radio works in this valley.
