How long do i have..?

I wasn't going to post to this again but stendori is right, ask questions before you buy. If your dealer is telling you he doesn't want to sell you an extended warrantee, or worse yet deal with it once you've bought it, either don't buy it or find another dealer.
The Polaris extended warranty, and probably some others out there, is only as good as the dealer who services it. 90% of the decision on whether or not to cover something is left to the discretion of the dealer. Dealers know how to write up a repair so it's covered by the warranty, extended or not. If they want to they will, if they don't they won't. Your satisfaction will also take some reasonable cooperation on your part. If you go to the well too many times, like needing two complete sets of tie rod ends in a year's time, the underwriter may refuse coverage under terms of abuse and you can get red flagged with future repairs being subjected to more scrutiny. Just as an example, our machines set up with the tires, wheels and lifts combined with the terrain we ride eat up tie rod ends. I'll submit a set a year under the extended warranty, the rest I pay for out of pocket. With the Polaris extended warranty system the dealer has a computer log to keep track of all warranty claims. If he'll work with you he can offer some knowledgeable insight into whether or not you should make a particular claim based on your history. Being reasonable about it is a two way street.
Bottom line here is BEFORE YOU BUY tell the dealer what mods you plan to do and ask if he foresees any warranty coverage problems if you do them. The answer to that question will vary significantly from dealer to dealer so shop around. Once you've made your major purchase the amount of leverage you can apply diminishes drastically.
