Hi everyone i need some help. I want to buy a snow plow on ebay for my Polaris Sportsman 500 HO. Problem is I cant remember what year it is. I know its etheir 2001-2003. I dont know if its a good idea to post the VIN # on here so I wont. Is there anyone that can tell me how I can tell what year my ATV is? Is there a website that tells you? Any help would be great.

Look on the front panel under the headlight,should tell you there, didn't you get a title for it? You can also have your dealer check the vin#.

 

The year is the 10th number of your vin number..It should make no difference because these are identical atv's ..changes came in 2004 as a 2004.5...Hope this helps you...

 

he right pretty much they stayed the same in those years and the 10 th number is the one to look at.

Wow. You guys were a great help. I allmost ordered the wrong bracket for the plow. It turns out my ATV is a 2004.

Where did you find the vin?

 

There is a sticker, right front of the bike. If it's gone, it should be stamped on the frame, same side.
Mine is right below the UNI sticker, in front of the tire in this picture.
