2004 Polaris Sportsman 4wheel drive
I've got a 2003-2004 Polaris Sportsman 600. When im in two wheel drive, and the rear wheels start to spin on ice or in mud, the front wheels will ingage all of a sudden. It doesn't matter what speed the rear wheels at spinning at, or the speed that the whole vehicule is moving at. I would like to see if anyone has had this happen to them, and how to fix it. I noticed this problem this year while driving on ice and snow. If the entire quad is on a patch of ice, if i press the gas the rear wheels will spin but the machine doesn't move anywhere, then the front wheels will just ingage at the same speed that the rear tires are spinning at.
Thanks

Have heard of problems with the front end engageing will spinning the rear wheels. First I would change the front diff fluid to see of that would help. If it does not help the problem it could be part in the front diff called a cage by most people. It has some springs on it that can get weak over time and allow the front end to engage with awd off.
