Default oil pan blowout (02 Polaris Sportsman 500)

I was plowing snow and I heard a bang. I saw something fly out from under the machine. It was still running fine, so I turned it off right away. I looked under the machine and saw the side of the plastic oil tank had blown off. I did replace this oil tank about 6 months ago because it would not stop leaking oil from the drain plug insert. I have been using the machine all winter. The macine was completly warmed up because I had been plowing for about 20 minutes. Any Ideas on what could have caused this? I can replace the oil tank again but what caused the problem?

Does that model have the relief hose that goes back to the Air box under the seat........This hose has the slit in mine ...Back Top hose off the oil tank!!........this should release any pressure that builds up in there!!!........Caper..........
